Pleasant Canyon Loop

Briggs Camp is a popular 4×4 destination with a well cared for cabin. The Cabin was built by Harry Briggs a miner and is now cared for by the Friends of Briggs Camp. watch out for the infamous ‘Chicken Rock’… We have passed by a few times but never stayed because it has always been occupied. Considered a usual stop in South Park Canyon for wheelers doing the South Park loop from Pleasant Canyon. Just watch out for the infamous ‘Chicken Rock’ that has claimed numerous casualties (chickens that is). The Honolulu Mine aka Thorndike Mine on USGS Topo is so far up the hill few visit it. The camp is just outside the Death Valley Park border and is best reached from the Ballarat side.
