This was a short notice non calendared day run. Mike W departs early am dropping off tow and trailer at Smoky exit. All others meet and departed PR park and ride at 7:25 to meet him at Flying J for breakfast.
Heading out the door to our Jeeps, Mike Sullivan introduced himself to us. He asked where heading and we told him “Miller”. He then explain he was waiting on couple of other Jeeps to run Miller but wasn’t sure if they were going to show. Mike asked if he could join us and after a few quick introductions, questions and answers we gladly extended the invitation. Safety Officer inspected his vehicle before we hit the road.
Weather conditions could not have been better for wheeling in my opinion. Slightly overcast on the cooler side, with a steady light breeze.
We air down and departed Lockwood trail head 10:30 ish. Made our way to Miller trailhead by noon, had lunch and started up Miller by 1:00. Hit the top (take group photo), drove back down to Smoky. Air up, talk to Mike S some more and invite him to stop in at our next meeting. Shake hands, head on the road home by 4.
No breakage, damage, carnage, strapping or winching. There did seem to be a CB gremlin trying to make trouble with Robb. Of particular note was Jeremy’s driving skills demonstration as he was picking some very nice lines.
It was a first time wheeling trip for Jake and Nicole with OTR. I had a great time listening to Nicole’s vast music library and she assisted in some picture taking duties. Scott and Jake looked like they were enjoying their day as well. Eric B provided CB banter and entertainment throughout the day.
Over all it was a very pleasant uneventful day on the trail.
