My mom and I arrived late Thursday night. Spend Friday morning putting around near blow sand hill and checking out the vendor area. Did the registration and headed back to camp. A few minutes later Ric pulls up. We spend the rest of the day at the vendor area and camp. We find the Genright guys (or guy, only ever saw Robert) and the Volks.

Saturday, we wake up early and head over and get in line (around 6:45 or so). Ric ended up being 5th in line and I was 6th. The first fun section, I ripped a sidewall and got stuck trying to get out of the way. Ric then tried to back up, but his ujoint on the front driveshaft breaks (the straps were hitting part of his suspension). So I flagged down some random guy and he straps me up (see photos). Get the spare thrown on and the driveshaft up out of the way with a bungee cord (2wd time for Ric). Eventually the bungee gets melted so zip ties to the rescue. Get back to camp and fix Rics ujoint. Ended up going to Tom Woods booth and getting half a driveshaft from him because the yoke was messed up. After it was fixed, Ric and I (riding shotgun) went and explored the rocky sections near blow sand a bit more. Then went to the raffle. I won a package of stuff, including two square procomp lights, a hoodlift, $100 gift certificate to Marlin Crawler, tow hooks, ratchet straps, gloves, shirt, and hat. Sorry Joe and Joe, your tickets didnt win...

Sunday we went driving around for a little while, then packed up and headed out. We were on the road around noon.

Normally writeups stop here, however, I had one more exciting thing happen. Pulling into a gas station, the tow bar we flat tow the jeep with broke, letting the jeep slam into the back of the camper (in the back of our truck). No damage because we were going less than 5mph. Mom jumped in the jeep and we cruised home.
