At 10 am the follow group met and the departed from Porter Ranch park and ride:
Jeremy C, Will S and Damien S in Keith L’s car,
Mike B (w/ Nicole) and Jeff S in Bill C’s car,
Steve S and Judy in their truck,
Tyler B in his Jeep,
John C w/ Wendy and Laura in Mike W’s truck (they left straight from Westlake Village).
All of us arrived at the Centro Basco at 11:30 as planned. Pre-lunch beverages we consumed, stories where told, parts of Jeeps talked about and the ladies looked to be bringing Judy into the fold as well. Special shout out to Jeff and Jeremy for trying a Basque drink called “Picon punch”.
Like clockwork, the lunch bell was rung at 12:30 sharp. We proceeded to our “boarders table” where at the head of the table featured a wonderful picture of Eric. We shared a moment of remembrance and a toast was made in his honor.
The food fest then began.
1st course was a very light spilt pea soup served with a mild sourdough French bread.
2nd course was a delightfully tangy fresh salad severed with copious amounts of blue cheese on the side.
3rd course was a huge omelet featuring a very light cheese sauce with green peppers and onions.
4rd course (main dish) were plate loads of savory pork chops cooked to perfection accompanied by pan fried potatoes and onions.
Table wine flowed throughout the meal.
By 2 pm we all had our fill. We hung out for a little while, took a group picture and headed home. Not our usually type of run but one that certainly merits repeating (next off-road show in Pomona).
Thank you all who attended!
